G...You missed the whole point of God's message. God created for Himself a people to serve and honor Him and be a witness to the world. In order for the world to see the favor of God on His people, His people needed to be separate. They needed to worship Him and Him only. They needed to celebrate Him with exclusive feasts and festivals. They needed to cleanse themselves with sacrifices and participate in rituals and rites. They were to be altogether different from the surrounding cultures that did not know God. When you know God intimately, you should be different. That's the point. God did not want His people to look and act like the heathens. This is why He commanded that they do not intermingle with them. It was a spiritual separation, not a racial one. It just so happens that in the Old Testament, most of God's people looked the same racially.

But when Jesus died, God tore the veil of the temple to symbolize a new dawning. God proclaimed what he hinted at before: that He is a God of both the Jews and the Gentiles.

Genesis 12:3
And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.

God was speaking to Abraham, who is the root of all Jewish people. He is saying that all the people (Jews and Gentiles) would be blessed through Abraham -- more specifically Abraham's descendant, Jesus Christ. God has always had a plan to save both Jews and Gentiles but the plan started with the Jews first then the Gentiles (Romans 1:16). See also Ephesians 3:2-6; Colossians 1:24-27; Galatians 3:28.

No longer are Jews and Gentiles separated from each other but are one in Jesus Christ. Jews and Gentiles now enjoy the same access to God through the salvation of His Son Jesus Christ.

Then as now, God still wants a separation between the clean from the unclean, the holy and the profane. But this is a spiritual separation, not a racial one. Skin color and heritage has never mattered. This is why Ruth, a Moabite, is an ancestor of Jesus Himself.

1 Peter 2:9
But you are A CHOSEN PEOPLE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR GOD’S OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light

We are people of the Light. We should not intermingle with darkness. Instead we should proclaim the Gospel so that people can be saved from the wrath to come.

2 Cor 6:14-18
Do not be mismatched with unbelievers; for what do righteousness and lawlessness share together, or what does light have in common with darkness? Or what harmony does Christ have with Belial, or what does a believer share with an unbeliever? Or what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said,
“I will dwell among them and walk among them;
And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord.
“And do not touch what is unclean;
And I will welcome you.

And I will be a father to you,
And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,”
Says the Lord Almighty.TJ Hunthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11977083308552564845noreply@blogger.com
